About the SCAHP Foundation

The South Carolina Alliance of Health Plans Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation whose mission is to engage South Carolina policymakers and key stakeholders to increase their knowledge and understanding of the state’s Medicaid program and commercial health insurance. The Foundation’s South Carolina Health Policy Institute (SCHPI) provides single and multiday seminars in a relaxed and collegial environment. 

The SCHPI introduces attendees to the fundamental issues in Medicaid and commercial health insurance. It helps them expand their knowledge of current issues in health care policy, the health care payment systems, and managed care. The Institute’s faculty includes leading policy and operational experts from many fields.  The seminars examine historical and current health care policy challenges, identify opportunities to improve our state’s Medicaid system, and address innovative ideas to increase access to affordable health insurance and quality care.
