Walgreens and AARP Health and Wellness Tour
§ AARP/SCAHP/Walgreen's Wellness Bus Tour – Health Screenings will be offered free to the community in eleven various locations across the State.
We are very thankful to Kimberly Best who has worked with us to put together this excellent opportunity to partner with them and offer screenings valued at $140.00 per person at 3 of the 11 local venues. These screenings will allow the community to come see how they are doing regarding health & wellness prevention. They will get a computer generated form allowing them to see how they screen in the following areas: heart disease, hypertension, cholesterol, blood glucose, bone density, waist circumference and BMI. After each person is screened at the 5 different locations inside the Walgreen's Health and Wellness Bus they will be able to get counsel by a trained professional in all health areas. They can then go to their local physicians and take better control of their health. Walgreen's will be providing refreshments, giveaways and AARP is giving a FREE 1 year AARP membership to all participants. SCAHP will have a booth at each of the following locations where our health plan and associate members can provide valuable educational materials to those who attend.
Special thanks to associate members Chris Dimmint and Kim Turk who helped provide educational materials for these events this spring. We partnered with AARP & Walgreen's & together were able to screen nearly 225 people at the two events we attended. This was a wonderful community outreach to citizens of SC who need this preventative health care. Thank you again for making this a great bus tour!
