SCAHP
For over a decade SCAHP has been the unified voice of the health insurance industry in South Carolina. As the trade association for the state, SCAHP's goals include providing quality health care at affordable prices for the employees and citizens of South Carolina and protecting the industry from unwarranted interference in the evolution, refinement and progress of managed care.
As an industry watchdog at the Statehouse, SCAHP plays a major role in maintaining a healthy business climate for the industry and providing a better standard of care for all South Carolinians. SCAHP's active participation in the legislative process and community have enabled the association to build lasting and meaningful relationships with the South Carolina General Assembly, other elected officials, industry regulators and members of the healthcare community.
Not only is SCAHP active in legislative and regulatory issues, but we also play a leadership role in empowering the community to lead healthier lives by working to educate citizens on disease management and prevention. SCAHP works toward this goal by holding community health initiatives across the state throughout the year.
SCAHP initiates and participates in many inter-industry collaborative projects, such as creating a uniform provider credentialing form and providing provider education programs targeted towards educating healthcare providers on best practices in disease management. SCAHP believes that collaboration with providers is important in ensuring that citizens receive high quality and affordable healthcare.
